    Description

LAST WEEK SLIGHTLYAFTER 7:30 AM, AS I CARRIED AN EMPTY CASE OF SELTZER BOTTLES OUT OF A BUILDINGADJACENT TO A LOCAL COFFEE SHOP, I SAW A FAMILIAR FACE OF SOMEONE I KNEW WHOUSED TO BUY SELTZER FROM ME TILL THIS BACHELOR MARRIED A MUCH YOUNGER WOMEN ANDSTARTED HAVING A FAMILY, AT AN AGE WHEN MOST WOULD START HAVING GRANDCHILDREN.HEWAS HOLDING THE HAND OF A VERY CUTE GIRL WHO WAS NOW 7, AND WAS
BABY IN A BABY BUGGY WHEN I SAW HER LAST. HISFAMILY GREW SO QUICKLY THAT I LOST COUNT BUT SOON IT SEEMED THERE WAS NO ROOMFOR SELTZER.
I FIRST MET ALECBALDWIN AFTER WE RAN IN TO EACH OTHER IN THE STREET MANY YEARS AGO, AND HE RECOGNIZEDMY BOTTLES FROM THE BOTTLES THAT HAD
SURROUNDED HIS SET WHEN HE WAS ON THE TV SHOW30 ROCK, AND HE STARTED BUYING SOME. ALEC IS ONE OF THOSE QUINTESSENTIAL NEW YORKERSWHO SEEM TO BE HOUNDED BY THE PRESS, YET HE IS ONE OF THE NICEST PEOPLE I KNOW.FROM TIME TO TIME WHEN MY TWO BOYS HELPED ME DELIVER HE WAS VERY NICE TO HIM,AND CONSIDERING WHAT A HUGE STAR HE IS IT IS QUITE A PLEASANT THING.
HE ASKED ME HOWBUSINESS IS, AND I REPLIED “THE PANEMIC WAS BAD FOR EVERYONE”AND HE REASSUREDME THINGS
WILL GET BETTER, AND LATELY ITDOES HAVE THAT FEEL THAT IT WILL. I TOLD HIS DAUGHTER THAT “YOU’RE SO CUTE..YOU’VEGOT YOUR FATHER’S MOVIE STAR GOOD LOOKS AND SHE SMILED.IT WAS NICE TO SEE HIM.
HE WOULD FREQUENTLYGO TO A LOCAL RESTAURANT NAME JEFFREYS THAT USED TO BUY 4 TO 5 CASES OF SELTZEREVERY WEEK AND STOPPED DURING THE PANDEMIC. IT WAS AND EXCITING PLACE WHERE MOVIESTARS, LOCALS AND TOURISTS ENJOYED ITS INTIMATE SURROUNDINGS,WHICH BECAME ITSGREATIST CHALLENGE WHEN THE WORLD WE KNEW SHUT DOWN.
TODAY WAS GAY PRIDEDAY AND ONE OF THE LANDMARKS OF THIS MOVEMENT, THE STONEWALL INN, WAS ALL OVERTHE NEWS, AND IS LOCATED A FEW FEET FROM JEFFREYS IN THE HEART OF GREENWICHVILLAGE. THIS
IS A HISTORIC AREA WHERESOME OF THE BUILDINGS ARE NEARLY TWO CENTURIES OLD , AND I MISS THE AREA, BUTIT WAS NICE SEEING PEOPLE CELEBRATE EN MASSE, WHEN LAST YEAR THERE WAS LITTLE TOCELEBRATE.
A FEW WEEKS AGO IGOT A CALL FROM THE MANAGER OF JEFFREYS THAT HE FOUND FIVE OF MY BOTTLES SO I WENTTO PICK THEM UP. BURRIED ON A SHELF WAS THREE OF MY MORE FAMOUS BOTTLES THATHAD BEEN PROUDLY DISPLAYED FOR YEARS, MANY FOR THEIR BEAUTY BUT ALSO FOR THEIRCOLORFUL PAST. WE CLIMBED UP TO GET THEM DOWN, AND NOW ALL THREE WILL BE FORSALE.
THEY WERE ALL ON THE TV SHOW 30 ROCK, AND WERE RETURNED TOME FROM ONE OF MY CUSTOMERS WHO WAS HEAD OF PRODUCTION, AND HAD PLACED THEM ONTHE SET FOR ME, THOUGH I NEVER PAID A CENT ONE OF MY FATHER’S AL BACKERMAN BOTTLEWERE ALSO ON THE SETS AND THAT MADE ME VERY HAPPY.
THIS AUCTION IS FOR A WONDERFUL DEEEP BLUE GERMAN ART DECO SELTZER BOTTLE THAT WOULD PREDATE WWII. ALSO PICTURED ARE THE BOTTLES IN VIEW OF THE STONEWALL INN A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. WITH ALL THE POLITICAL DISCORD LATELY IT IS TIME TO EMBRACE OUR DIFFERENCES AND BE HAPPY ESPECIALLY AFTER THE YEAR WE'VE HAD.
OUR BOTTLES ARE MEANT FOR DISPLAY.
ALL AUCTIONS BELONG TO MY WIFE SELTZERLADY.
I STILL DELIVER THE SELTZER AND WILL NEVER SELL ANY OF MY BOTTLES IF YOU SEE ME AROUND, BUT WILL TALK TO ALMOST ANYONE ABOUT THEM.
THESE ARE IN FABULOUS CONDITION CONSIDERING THEIR AGE AND THAT THEY'VE BEEN USED FOR GENERATIONS. WHEN YOU DELIVER THESE BOTTLES IN WOODEN CASES OF TEN WEIGHING 70 POUNDS THEY DO GET HANDLED ROUGHLY.
AND THEY DO SHOW THEIR SIGNS OF AGE BUT THAT ONLY ADDS TO THEIR AUTHENTICITY AND DESIRABILITY..
THESE BOTTLES HAVE BEEN CLEANED THOUGHLY BY MY WIFE AND THESE ARE HER AUCTIONS.
THEY ARE MEANT FOR DISPLAY AND DECORATION..
THESE ARE VINTAGE COLLECTIBLES AND WERE IN USE TILL RECENTLY..THEY ALL HAVE A LONG AND MAGNIFIENT HISTORY OF PLEASING MANY FOR GENERATIONS. THEY ARE TIME-WORN WHICH ONLY ADDS TO THEIR AUTHENTICITY AND SENSE OF CONTINUITY WITH THE PAST FOR THOSE WHO LOOK FOR THINGS THAT ARE MEANT TO BE USED FOR A MOMENT THEN DISPOSED OF JUST AS QUICKLY.

THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE RICH BLUE BOTTLE. IT IS MARKED MADE IN GERMAN AND WOULD PREDATE WWII. IT'S REALLY AN INCREDIBLE BOTTLE.
THEY ARE PICTURED BURIED ON THE SHELF, ALMOST FORGOTTEN,  WHEN THEY WERE CELEBRATED IN THE PAST BY MILLIONS.
ALSO PICTURED IN VIEW OF THE STONEWALL INN. THERE'S A LOT OF POLITICAL DISCORD IN AMERICA LATELY, BUT WE NEED TO BE HAPPY, ESPECIALLY AFTER THE YEAR WE'VE HAD.
THIS BOTTLE SHOULD MAKE YOU HAPPY......
