    Description

Offered is a beautiful vintage Northwest Coast Washington State Quileute Indian Cedar Gathering Basket. This came with a similar, smaller basket I offered two weeks ago. It has the tag from the original owner's purchase, which identifies the tribe and the place it was purchased Soleduck River and an early to mid-20th Century price of .95. The tag says Quileute near Soleduck River, Wash. 995. The back of the tag has a code that may be an inventory # and measurements but it looks like it says 7" by 9 1/2" and this one isn't that long.
The basket measures 7" tall  by 9" lengthwise by 8" across.
Very good condition. Basket is sturdy with no breaks. A few of the cedar slats have split but overall, still excellent vintage piece. Please see pictures.
General Information about our business, shipping, holding items,
    etc.:
    * Most of the items we sell come from our personal collection gathered over the years from our travels, from Native powwows and craft stores, antique shops, auctions and estate sales. Now that our kids are in college and beyond, we are letting some items go so others can enjoy them.
    *We w
ill gladly combine orders to save you on shipping charges.   Please email for a combined invoice before paying. Sometimes a few first class items jump to priority pricing (.25 and up) because weight puts a package over the 16 ounce limit. Sorry, I can't combine collectibles and book/Magazine purchases.
*If you want me to hold items for the next week's auction, please contact me and
    wait
to pay until the last auction ends. Then I'll send you a combined invoice. If you pay right away, I will NOT be able to hold your items due to Ebay's ship within 1-day after payment rule. Please tell me if you are waiting for next week's auction. If you don't communicate and don't pay, you will get an automated non-paying bidder notice from Ebay after 4 days. Thank you!
    *International Buyers:
I will mail first class to Canada but to all other locations, I prefer to mail priority to insure your item arrives safely. Please email me with questions. Sorry for the expense, but  I've had items lost overseas when mailing first class and don't want to take the risk of losing items.
*I pack carefully and try to reuse materials to save on environmental impact. I often double-box items with smaller gift boxes collected from various thrift stores. Though I don't like styrofoam peanuts for environmental reasons, I have found they are the best at protecting fragile  items against damage during shipping. I reuse all that I receive and hope you will make use of the ones that come in your packages. Thank you.
    * Please contact us before leaving negative feedback if something isn't right with your item. We want you to be satisfied with your purchase

Additional note: I meant to write 560 was on the tag rather than 540. And it could be .60 or 0, depending on when the basket was sold and by whom. I was thinking it was a gallery price of 0, but if the actual craftsperson sold it in the early days, it is probably .60.
